Methanol is the world’s third-largest chemical widely used in many applications in petrochemical downstream industries such as paints, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fuel, cleaners and so on. Currently, an average of about 5 million tons of methanol production in the Iranian petrochemical industry and global markets are exported especially in East Asia and Western Europe. After China, Saudi Arabia and Trinidad and Tobago, Iran is the fourth pole of methanol in the world. The total production capacity is estimated more than 50 million tons per year. Iran exploitation of Zagros Petrochemical Complexes such as Khark, Shiraz and FanAvaran holds between 5 to 7 percent of the global market for this strategic petrochemical product. However, having more than 33 trillion cubic meters of natural gas reserves in the world and launching new phases of South Pars there is no difficulty in procuring feed for methanol production units. Therefore, the estimates show that due to the lack of natural gas feedstock in Saudi Arabia and Trinidad and Tobago, Iran\u2019s advantage for gas reserves in the future for construction and operation of new petrochemical complexes to produce methanol, can become as the second largest producer of petrochemicals in the global market. <\/span>
\n We work with China about production\u00a0of Methanol in Port Ganaveh because China is the world’s largest methanol consumer. It is expected that China’s share of total global demand for methanol in 2016 is a significant trend. Middle East, South America and Southeast Asia during the years 2011 to 2016 will be the world\u2019s producers of methanol.<\/span><\/p>\n

It can be concluded that due to the increase in the average annual growth rate of global demand for methanol in the period from 2011 to 2016 to the period 2006 to 2011 and of effective demand in Northeast Asia, North America and Western Europe, the construction of methanol plant in Iran is going o create positive economic activities and also profitability of supply in the market. Because the main feed production units of methanol, natural gas and pricing of this product is in the hands of public institutions, the risk of changes in the law cost of the complex is faced with significant changes. Moreover, after lifting of the sanctions imposed against Iran, Iranian companies are able to sell their products in the European markets, but more often they sell their products in the countries of East Asia, considering the China\u2019s price on this product.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ganaveh City is located on the Persian Gulf coast which is located in the south of the country and it has access to open sea, therefore, it\u2019s suitable for the international export. MPCI Company Checks the economic feasibility of a project on construction of methanol production in a land area of 128,000 square meters. MPCI in collaboration with the industry and mining sector of the province of Iran, foreign investment and with the use of domestic power is doing some studies for feasibility of the project of production of Methanol in Port Ganaveh. Designing, building the part of the project is done with the foreign investor contractor in case of profitability of the project, the product will be bought in advance by the investor company.<\/span><\/p>\n
